Kemp: A Historical City
Located in Kauffman County, Kemp is a small city in Texas with a population of approximately 1,154 people. Named after Sara Kemp, the mother of first postmaster Levi Noble, the city gained its name in 1851 when the post office opened. As a part of the Kemp Independent School District, the city is home to four excellent schools which include Kemp Primary, Kemp Intermediate, Kemp Junior High, and Kemp High.
